Loosening up and hope to get a coach

So it seems like I am a lazy blogger. But mainly the lack of updated comes from the fact that I took a 5+ days break from poker, and due to semester ending/superbowl spent main part of beginning of February with drinking hard. Now I am at my parents house and looking forward to go snowboarding for 3 days with my girlfriend starting on Thursday.

So far I only played something like 3k hands (don't have my database here with me) and know nothing about my results, well I guess I am down a bit, because I dropped down to 2-6 tables of 50nl and try to focus hard on my game. My nitty style worked out well at 25nl and I think I can still be a winner at 50nl, but I decided to open up my game a bit. Actually I did this mainly to being able to play a lot, lot more post flop pots. I really need to work at my game, and thus tried a few 2 table sessions were I played something like 30/24 which led into a ton of tough decisions post flop and I think this will improve my game greatly. From now on I am heading more towards a semi lag style 22/19ish (I know this is still very tight, but the better games at party are extremely loose) and feel like I can play 4-6 tables and still being able to overthink situations good enough.

I am also extremely proud of the fact that I am one of the first 25 applicants picked by joshuadzl for his coaching program. I have until Wednesday night to answer to the questions he sent to me for round two. He will then pick 5 people, and only one of them will get his student. Making it under the top 5 would be awesome, because I than would get at least a single session with him. From what I have heard he is an awesome player, a great coach and definitely a very nice person, otherwise he would not be out there coaching for free. Well, I really like that fact, because I am doing the same (greetings to caleb"bigslick") although not that ambitous.

On a bad sidenote, I crashed my laptop while playing arround with partition magic (awkward for an informatics student) and lost my database. I had over 40k hands in that DB from mid December to the end of January, which sucks at least for my coaching application ...

I will update here as soon as I know something new about the coaching think, so far:
Thanks for reading,
Thomas
