Just a quick update. I am still at my parents house and hope to leave tomorrow. Poker goes great lately, I think I am up 1k+ this month so cannot complain overall.
But today was just brutal, I think all the coolers I managed to dodge the last week came back today. Lose isnt that crucial but still I am in whining mood. Only got in 670 hands because party software was a huge joke today. Was around break even until the last 5 minutes of play. First got second+midpair vs top&bottom in on turn to lose close to one buy in, and then the last 2 hands until I quit cost me 2 more. Had KK vs JJ in a 4bet blind battle, last money went in on QJ2 flop bleh, and right on the other table I was at I called a UTG raise from the BB closing the action 4 way with 67s, flop comes 458r, bet/raise/3bet/shove/call, he flips over 55 and sure he spikes an 8 on turn. After I lost all 3 big pots I played today I insta closed tables to avoid tilt and now I am done until weekend.
Thx for reading,
Thomas

Short winning session
I was busy with preparing for my exam on Friday and I also went to the gym and did a fairly hard workout. So I came home late and somewhat tired and decided to only play as I long as I feel 100% concentrated. I continued to run good and picked up another 2.5 buy ins in 400 hands. Will have tons of time to play after my test on Friday, if upswing continues march could become a nice winning month. Converted my party points to $100 today and my bankroll looks nice now.
Thanks for reading and gl to everyone,
Thomas

Playing A+ game and winning
Today I got to sweat my buddy Dan playing 1/2 on stars for 1-2 hours. It was very nice to see him winning ~6BIs today and I also think I could give him some input for his pre flop game.
Besides that I tried to get a few school things going and took my second climbing lesson which was very nice. After that I decided to look for some juicy games and get a few hands in. 50nl games at Party were just insane weak so I was playing 6-8 tables being able to play very tight and still get paid off. My game right now is very good imo, my lines are very clear and I find myself much less often on trouble situations. I got honored for that with a nice win of 2BIs but only got ~600 hands in because I was too tired. Hope my upswing continues, only lost one buy in bigger than 30BB which is awesome for me.
Winners:
Turn action killer, but he is still too weak to lay his AA down
Really hoped to be up against weaker two pair, shows that I run good
Gotta love guys calling 4bets with AT0 and getting it in with gutter on turn
Losers:
Only losing hand >20BB: Against any sort of overpair I am favourite on that flop, 65s is like the last thing I consider being in his range lol

Thomas

Quick update
Since my last post I only played two session at 50nl. I am not any more able to put in as many hands as at the beginning because I have so much stuff to do for school, and so have to party whenever I take an exam well. Played a smallish session on friday and lost a buy in. Today I played two sessions each 500 hands on 4-6 tables and booked a nice win of 2.5 buy ins. So I am finally back in the green for my challenge. I really felt like I played my A+ game in the last days so I start to get comfortable. Also a big thank you goes out to Dan (iheartcoco on cr) you gives me a ton of good feedback on the hands I play so helps me a lot to believe in my game.

Nice win
Have a lot of stuff to do for college so didn't have too much time in the past 2 days for playing. Somehow still managed to get a few hands in. Yesterday played a 600 hand session in the evening, and ended slightly negativ around even. Today I had to take an exam which went so okish so I decided to put in a few hands. Fired up party software and found a ton of awesome games running. I sat on two tables with all 5 players besides me having a vpip over 28%. I played between 5-9 tables until suddenly my computer crashed and I decided to call it a session. I only got 500 hands him but booked a nice win of 3.5 Buy Ins. Confidence is back now as it turned out I am still able to win. I still miss around $150 in net all-in runs, so I am def looking forward to get a lot of hands in on weekend and hopefully take home a nice profit to get back in the green.
Biggest loser of the day:
I played the whole session my A-game, 5 seconds of stupid tilt play cost me a lot of money
Biggest winners:
He gives me great odds pre flop and I take the free card, gotta love people slowplaying their AA
When he flats turn he is on a draw very often, they all miss and I give him a chance to bluff
Hands so far: 4151
Hands to go: 10,849
Amount won: -$23
PTBB/100: -0.56

Very depressing start
So I played the first two days of my challenge and feel pretty depressed. I started yesterday by playing maybe still a bit too loose, but tables were sick so I felt like having to play more hands. Was running super bad but somehow still managed to book a nice win of 1,5 Buy Ins in like 1500 hands.
I played very well my first day, so obviously hoped to run better today and book a nice win. I just ran like total shit. Played two session today, first one was like 1k hands before lunch, second session lasted 500 hands and just finished a few minutes ago. In the second session I got a sweat from cr buddy iheartcoco, so played def decent except for one crappy hand. Over the course of 1.5k hands I managed to lose close to 5 Buy Ins today. My stats are though pretty much were I want them to bet, played a tight-aggressive style of 18/16 but my W$ when saw flop is still way too low so gotta work on that hard. Obv a Won $ at SD of 36% reflect how well I ran today ... I don't wanna comment too much on hands right now, talked over most of them already a lot.
5 biggest Winners:
TT flops set vs bad slowplayed AA
AA gets lucky on river, should have flat called turn because KQ is soo likely here
Set over set, cannot missplay that hand
Let him value bet second pair 3 streets, should have pushed river cause he's never folding
Should have overshoved river, he never folds an Ace in that spot
5 biggest Loosers:
Def cannot lay down AA here, he was felting a ton of flops vs me and playing very aggro
Put him on AQ exactly, he hits his 13 outer on the river
Worst hand of the day, should have raised flop for info, as played have to fold river ;(
Overpair vs bare flush draw gets it in on turn, he hits on river
Will never lay down top two on that board for 50BB, obv he flopped his set
Best laydown:
Should be easy fold, somehow it's still very hard for me to let those go
Hands so far: 3,022
Hands to go: 11,978
Amount won: -$176

15k hands for Joshua
So I just finished my fairly short pt stat review with Joshua. He really seems like an awesome guy and poker player and I think I can learn a lot from him. Unfortuantely I was not able to put in that much hands in the last time, thus my sample size for 50nl is still very small. I also was trying out a lot of new stuff, thus my stats do not reflect too much.
Anyways so we talked about what sort of style is most profitable at 50nl, and he wants me to tighten up a bit to get a tagish vpip pf around 18-19%. We agreed that do identify leaks post flop I need more hands, thus he wants me to play 15k hands and then we will get through them.
So I will try to play good tight aggressive poker and hope the 15k hands run somwhat well. He also pointed that he thinks playing 6 tables at a time would be optimal for me. To anybody considering hiring Joshua as a small stakes coach I can definitely recommend him from the little experience I now have with him. I like the fact that he not only criticises, but also tells me what he thinks I am good at, ie what he likes at my play. I enjoyed talking to him
So I will try to put those 15k hands in as fast as possible, some kinda challenge if you want. I will bomb Joshua with hands that I come along, and I also think I will reduce HU play to the few times a known super donk sits down at UB. I am also thinking of creating a new account at UB to get Rakeback, thus I can take a break of HU action while cashing out etc.
I will try to update as I am progressing with my 15k hand challenge, wish me best of luck on that.
Thanks for reading,
Thomas

March, here I come!
So I was a very lazy blogger during whole February. Was a mixture of not playing too much poker, playing bad poker, playing unsuccessful poker, and being to lazy to blog in general.
In a quick summary, February was very bad pokerwise for me. I played arround 15k hands, and broke even over the month. I am still playing 50nl, though I also grinded a few hands at 25nl to gain confidence. I tried a ton of new things out which makes running even for a month ok. I loosened up a ton, 2-5 tabled for a few thousand hands at 50nl running like 32/28 which helped my post flop play a ton I think. I also started playing 50nl HU on UB, although I dont have a proper roll at that site. HU is very exciting, and I also think I learned a ton of stuff, both pokerwise and about game selection and controlling tilt. To be honest I tilted pretty hard a few times at HU matches, but I am still a bit up over the month.
Today I already played a mixture out of 50nl HU and 9-tabling 25nl, ran okish in both so I am on the track to go into the green in march, because I dumped $200 at hu yesterday. I am looking forward to receive my first coaching lession from josh. I think he should be an awesome coach, and I hope to get a lot out of our first ptracker stats review.
Goals for march:
Next updates will follow, thanks for reading,
Thomas
